Benefits of an ANPR Camera
- Much higher success in capturing licence plate images due to higher frame rates
- Licence plates are not only visually captured, but the camera can read and record the plate information
- Licence plates are store on a searchable database. You could check to see what times a licence plate has been captured.
- Triggers can be set up to provide notification when certain registration plates are captured.
Downside of an ANPR Camera
- Night-time image is very dark since the camera must cut out as much light as possible to read the reflective surface of a registration plate
- More expensive than a standard camera due to more advanced hardware
